After a lot of craze, turns out the University of Iowa will keep its reportedly $150m Pollock, the landmark mural he made for Peggy Guggenheim’s townhouse several decades back. Were the school to have sold the painting, the AAM (American Association of Museums) would have revoked the University…
The city is putting advertisements on the facades of its crumbling monuments to help pay for restoration, but many believe they must be contained.
Although policies vary, some museums that divest themselves of works open themselves to criticism.
I am the world’s worst procrastinator. I can find anything, ANYTHING, to do other than my assigned work. I literally have a post note list of each item and due date on my desk. I have 8-10 exhibit text panels to outline, a 7 page project, a 20 page paper and about 20 hours of intern work to accomplish along with two “quick” (ie 2 pages) writing assignments that are due Monday and Tuesday.
WHY IS THE INTERNET SO INTERESTING???
If tomorrow is nice I am going to the beach and I am doing my work. I WILL GET SHIT DONE. I SWEAR.

So I’m not exactly sure why I decided to start a blog (or technically tumblr) but I do read (lets face it I stalk) a lot of them and decided to give it a whirl. A few facts about me and what I may post in this thing.
+ I’m a 25 year old first year graduate student. I’m currently getting my Master’s degree in the Bay Area though I originate from the East Coast. So far I’m loving how different San Francisco is compared to Boston
+ I love museums, history, art, architecture, food, cooking, legal dramas, adventures and puzzles. Expect commentary on all of the above and lets face it more - I tend to ramble.
+ I’m a huge fan of hockey (VANCOUVER CANUCKS & NASHVILLE PREDATORS) and since I’ve started this during the first round of Stanley Cup playoffs you can 100% expect me to freak out/cheer/curse about hockey
+ You can find me on Twitter, Pinterest, and LiveJournal. I do have facebook but that is strictly personal. I also have Instagram
+ I answer to Alyss or Ashley, due to the very complicated nature of my family. You can call me either of these names or make up a fun, super awesome new name and I’ll go by that :)
I guess this blog will serve the purpose of my internet procrastination even more and maybe turn into something that actually means more than putting off the large stack of work I have to accomplish in the month of school left.
